Senior Citizens

Categorization of Senior Citizens applies to those whose 60th birthday falls before the registration term and who have been a legal domiciliary of Virginia for one year.

Tuition and fees for senior citizens are described in the current University Catalog. If a senior citizen is eligible for a tuition waiver, a waiver form must be completed each academic term.

Senior Citizens’ Tuition Waiver Forms are available in the Office of Student Accounts, Room 210, Administration Building.

The Virginia Military Survivors and Dependents Education Program (VMSDEP)

Formally called "War Orphans," this program provides education benefits (tuition and required fees) to spouses and children of military members killed, missing in action, taken prisoner, or who became at least 90 percent disabled as a result of military action in an armed conflict. This program is administered through the Virginia Department of Veterans Affairs. Please refer to Code of Virginia, Section 23-7.4:1 (A) for more detail.
